Panorama

This week's assignment in my photography class was to create a panoramic image. I made three!

The last one, even though it doesn't look like it, is 5 images stitched together.

It's like riding a bike...

It's been a while, but better late than never, right? I enrolled in an Advanced Photography Class that started this week through PCC. So far, so good. Everything is starting to come back to me. I am hoping to challange myself by taking pictures every day... this beautiful weather we're having is really helping!

This last photo was a complete accident; I like it anyway.

Toast

Our family pet of nealy 17 years (we think!) lost his battle with kidney disease this yesterday. Here's the last picture that I took of him - taken this weekend.

Toast was a great kitty, and he will be missed.

Blog Collaboration

This was especially exciting for me - my first "photo shoot" since high school. Tonight I went over to Megan's house to take pictures for her blog My Edible Experiment, and most importantly, have some super delicious food with a good friend.

The (other) best part was that I got to try out my new lens! I really wanted a fast lens (i.e. large aperture) and finally found a cheap one. Sadly, while the lens has a larger range of f-stops, it is just a 35mm lens so I am unable to zoom in and zoom out. I never realized how much I got used to the zoom function on a camera before. Due to the size of the space we were working with, I wasn't able to get a ton of full shots - but the close ups turned out great!

All in all, I had a great time. My excitement for photography keeps coming stronger every time I pick up my camera - this experience made me just want to work harder toward my goal of actually doing this on the side someday. I just gotta keep practicing.

Spring

This weekend was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad that I was able to get a few pictures in.
